Nelson Police Memorial 5KM Run/Walk

The first annual Nelson Police Memorial 5K Run/Walk is taking place on Sunday, September 21st at Lakeside Park in Nelson. This memorial run event is being held to celebrate the life of detective Wade Tittemore and constable Mathieu Nolet, who tragically lost their lives in a backcountry avalanche in 2023.

The event aims to bring together the community to celebrate the lives of these two individuals in remembrance and raise funds for a new student award in their name.

Proceeds from the run will support a new student scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating LV Rogers student who demonstrates a strong commitment to community service and engagement.

Osprey Community Foundation is honoured to manage the Nelson and Police Foundation Fund which generates earnings to support community projects and scholarships and bursaries for local students.
