Donations to Osprey, small or large, are pooled in a permanently-endowed fund and it’s the income generated from this fund that make Osprey grants possible. Think of it like growing an apple orchard: donors plant the trees and the orchard grows with each gift, then every year the apples are picked and awarded to the many charitable causes and programs in our community.

From neighbourhood gardening tours to watershed monitoring, from support groups for parents with teenage children to music therapy for residents of long term care homes, Osprey’s grants are here to help build a vibrant and inclusive community.

"I wanted to do something local, such as helping seniors in our hospital here, and the fund I chose was a good fit with what I wanted to do. The donation is also a memorial to my wife; it fulfilled her wishes too."
Peter Haliday, donor Friends of Nelson Elders in Care Fund
