Community Prosperity Fund

We are taking part in delivering the Community Prosperity Fund a $25 million investment from the Government of B.C. that advances poverty reduction and social inclusion in local communities.

The Government of B.C. recognizes that non-profits are vital to people and communities in B.C. They are important partners, often providing services to those made vulnerable in all corners of British Columbia. The Community Prosperity Fund will support organizations by providing funding for up to three years to drive positive change in our communities.

Every community is unique, and so are their needs. You know this, and review committees do, too. Osprey will ensure your application will be reviewed at the local level. The Community Prosperity Fund also gives you the space to complete your best work. You have up to three years for your activities, giving you space to implement the funding over time and in a way that works best for your organization. What if you only need one year? That’s also great. You know best what you need.

You can apply to support your operational expenses, expand a current project, or create a new one. It’s up to you! You get to decide what would benefit your organization most so that you can continue the incredible work that benefits our community.

Osprey will be distributing a total of $210,000 for programs and projects taking place in the Slocan Valley, Salmo Valley, North Kootenay Lake or Nelson and RDCK areas E and F. Grants will range up to $30,000, however larger requests will be considered for those applications that have a regional benefit and are/or working in collaboration with other local organizations addressing poverty reduction and social inclusion. Please note: Applicants can apply for one grant for up to $30,000  and that amount can be expended over 1-3 years based on the submitted budget. One installment will be provided. Successful applicants will not receive three installments of up to $30,000 nor will there be an opportunity to reapply next year for another grant.

We encourage you to contact Tina Choi at ed@ospreycommunityfoundation.ca for more information.

Applications are now open and close on June 24th! Visit Vancouver Foundation’s website to find out more about how to apply, explore resources, and submit your application.

"It has been a most interesting year and to have these courses offered via Zoom at a time when we are, and have been, rather isolated has been a double blessing"
