Judson Wright Legacy Fund
The Judson Wright Legacy Fund honours the memory of Judson Adam Wright who passed away on November 15th, 2025 at age 46. Established by Judson’s wife Kelly, this Fund will support initiatives that reflect Judson’s values, including back country awareness and education.
Born on March 9th, 1979, in Newmarket, Ontario, Judson lived a life defined by love, dedication, and a deep sense of adventure. Judson captured it best when he said, “I love my family, my friends, and the mountains.” Those simple words reflected everything that truly mattered to him, from the connections he cherished to the loyalty he lived by and the joy he found in exploring the world around him.
Judson is survived by his cherished wife, Kelly Wright, and their beloved child, Griffin Wright and his caring mother in law Gayle Sutherland. He is also survived by his loving mother Amy Wright, and his brother with whom he shared a close connection with, Brendan Wright, along with his sister-in-law, Dominique Chapman, their child, Juniper Chapman-Wright and the Jeske family, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Dietmat, cousins Aaron, Tyler, Jordan and families. He was predeceased by his father, Rick Wright. He also leaves behind an extensive group of incredible friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.
Judson will be remembered for his genuine nature, his humour, and his dedication to his work in the backcountry. Whether in his role as a guide, mentor, or in the simple, meaningful moments spent with family, jamming with friends, or carving turns on the mountain, he made an impact that will never be forgotten.
May his memory continue to bring comfort, and may the love he shared live on in all who knew him. Think of him when you find yourself the unsuspecting star of a good prank, when that ridiculous song comes on that could drive anyone nuts, when you spot a precariously placed firework, when you float through deep, fresh powder, or when you pass an overly enthusiastic crossing guard. In those small, unexpected moments, feel his presence, it’s him smiling along with you.
