Thanks, Dr. Jim

Dr.JimNoilesPoster1And thanks to the sold out crowd that attended the hilarious and heart-warming Community Tribute to Dr. Jim Noiles on October 19th. Fabulous entertainment by our M.C. We’ll post photos when they’re available. If you couldn’t be there, but wish to pay tribute to Dr. Jim, we would gratefully accept any donations to our Community Fund.

Suzy Hamilton Legacy Fund

suzy-hamiltonOur community recently lost an environmental champion. Family and friends have established a new Osprey fund to honour Suzy’s legacy. Monies generated will be used each year to honour a woman in the West Kootenay who has shown leadership and verve in her environmental work. Donations to this fund can be made by cheque (“Osprey Community Foundation”, and put “Suzy Hamilton” on the memo line) or online. See the Donations page for details.

2016 Community Grants

From the ‘Grub & Shrub Club’ to summer theatre to programs for seniors, Osprey grants make a difference in the community. See a list of community grants here.

Dan Davidoff Legacy Fund

dan-davidoffDan died in March 2016 in an avalanche, and his sister Kelly has established this fund in his honour. Income from the fund will support causes such as addiction services, mental health awareness and avalanche safety and training. Kelly will match all donations. Here’s your link to the Donate page.

Leave a Legacy Here, Where You Live

HeartBeen thinking about leaving a financial gift in your will to benefit local charities? Estate gifts (bequests) are a painless way to give, and here’s an added incentive. If we can show that local donors have bequeathed a total of $100,000 in new endowment gifts to Osprey, the Vancouver Foundation will give our community a bonus $10,000 for immediate granting to local charities.

Start the conversation with your financial advisor or lawyer about the legacy you wish to leave behind. And if you decide to leave an endowed gift to Osprey in your will, please let us know so it can count towards our $100K goal.
